I'm a freak.

A freak is a thing or occurrence that is markedly unusual or irregular.

I was walking into work and noticed a person from the corner of my eye.  They ducked back so as I would not notice.  Then to top it off, others were markedly trying to divert my attention so as to prolong the hiding game.  Really?  The disappointment is that occasional talking behind my back had to occur for all of the "normal" people to feel accepted.  

Well, the freaks are a group of people too, and we really dislike you "normal" people who think they are without flaws, and we will say it to your face without the games.  I already new I was a freak.  It is the freak that makes a million dollars.  It is the freak that makes great art.  It is the freak that makes the music of which you listen.

This ties into something.

Once, a while ago, I decided I was going to be the one guy on this deviantArt website that would tell the brutal truth in my critiques.  What I failed to see is that the world is full of normal people who just love the brutal truth.  These people, I was one of them, could not see the future past the present.  When a man speaks words, it is those words in which he becomes.  That is how the Universe works.  If I were to tell the brutal truth and say that a person's art sucks, those spoken (written) words will find their way back to me, and will call out like a bright beacon in the night, for me to gain the knowledge of becoming this.

So it would make sense to find ways to encourage others, for that is what will find me in my endeavors.  What if the art really is crap?

A critique should be one of hope and future.  To tell an artist that his distinctive lines should be pursued with the likes of Picasso or Salvador Dali, gives hope for the future and Universal visits to me from the Masters of the past.  What a deal.

As the Internet grows, I see there are more and more like us (freaks).  As a matter of fact, I think we all have a little "freak" inside of us.  I'm a freak.  I'm an accepted freak.  And maybe you are too.
